In the field, there stands a little tower. A little mouse, the burrower, runs by. She sees the tower, stops, and asks:- Little tower, little tower! Who lives in the tower?
No one answers. So she goes in and starts living there. A little frog, the croaker, hops up:
- Little tower, little tower! Who lives in the tower?
- I do, the little burrower mouse. And who are you?
- I am the little croaker frog.
- Come live with me.
The frog goes in, and the two of them start living together. A bunny comes running:
- Little tower, little tower! Who lives in the tower?
- I do, the little burrower mouse, and I, the little croaker frog. And who are you?
- I am the little hopper bunny.
- Come live with us.
Now the three of them live together. A little fox comes running:
- Little tower, little tower! Who lives in the tower?
- The little burrower mouse, the little croaker frog, the little hopper bunny. And who are you?
- I am the little sister fox.
- Come join us.
The fox climbs into the tower. Now the four of them live together. A little wolf, the gray barrel, comes running, peeks through the door, and asks:
- Little tower, little tower! Who lives in the tower?
- The little burrower mouse, the little croaker frog, the little hopper bunny, the little sister fox. And who are you?
- I am the little gray barrel wolf.
- Come live with us!
Now the five of them live together. Suddenly, a clumsy bear walks by. The bear sees the tower, stops, and roars:
- Little tower, little tower! Who lives in the tower?
- The little burrower mouse, the little croaker frog, the little hopper bunny, the little sister fox, the little gray barrel wolf.
- And I am the clumsy bear!
- Come live with us.
The bear tries to climb into the tower. He climbs and climbs, but he just can’t fit inside. So he says:
- I’ll live on your roof instead.
- But you’ll crush us!
- No, I won’t.
- Well, then climb up!
The bear climbs onto the roof, but as soon as he sits down, the tower creaks, falls over, and completely collapses. The animals run out, upset, not knowing where to live now. But then they agree that each of them will bring a twig and a log to rebuild the tower.
They start carrying logs and sawing boards to build a new tower. They build it even better than before! And so they live together happily, enjoying their good fortune.
