The Fox and the Hare

Once upon a time, there lived a fox and a hare. The fox had an ice hut, and the hare had a wooden one. When spring came, the fox's hut melted, but the hare's remained as it was.

So the fox asked to stay overnight at the hare's hut and then kicked him out. The hare went along the road, crying. A dog met him:

"Woof, woof, woof! Why are you crying, little hare?"
"How can I not cry? I had a wooden hut, and the fox had an ice one. She asked to stay overnight and then kicked me out."
"Don't cry, little hare! I'll help you with your trouble."

They approached the hut. The dog barked:

"Woof, woof, woof! Get out, fox!"

But the fox called from the stove:

"If I jump out, if I leap out, scraps will fly through the alleys!"

The dog got scared and ran away. The hare went along the road again, crying. A bear met him:

"Why are you crying, little hare?"
"How can I not cry? I had a wooden hut, and the fox had an ice one. She asked to stay overnight and then kicked me out."
"Don't cry, I'll help you with your trouble."
"No, you won't. The dog tried to chase her out and couldn't, and you won't either."
"No, I will!"

They approached the hut. The bear roared:

"Get out, fox!"

But the fox called from the stove:

"If I jump out, if I leap out, scraps will fly through the alleys!"

The bear got scared and ran away. The hare went along the road again, crying even harder. A bull met him:

"Why are you crying, little hare?"
"How can I not cry? I had a wooden hut, and the fox had an ice one. She asked to stay overnight and then kicked me out."
"Come on, I'll help you with your trouble."
"No, bull, you won't. The dog tried, the bear tried, and you won't succeed either."
"No, I will!"

They approached the hut. The bull bellowed:

"Get out, fox!"

But the fox called from the stove:

"If I jump out, if I leap out, scraps will fly through the alleys!"

The bull got scared and ran away. The hare went along the road again, crying harder than ever. A rooster with a scythe met him:

"Cock-a-doodle-doo! Why are you crying, little hare?"
"How can I not cry? I had a wooden hut, and the fox had an ice one. She asked to stay overnight and then kicked me out."
"Come on, I'll help you with your trouble."
"No, rooster, you won't. The dog tried, the bear tried, the bull tried, and you won't succeed either."
"No, I will!"

They approached the hut. The rooster stamped his feet, flapped his wings, and crowed:

"Cock-a-doodle-doo! I'm coming on my heels,
Carrying a scythe on my shoulders,
I want to cut the fox down,
Get off the stove, fox,
Get out, fox!"

The fox heard this and got scared, saying:

"I'm putting on my shoes..."

The rooster crowed again:

"Cock-a-doodle-doo! I'm coming on my heels,
Carrying a scythe on my shoulders,
I want to cut the fox down,
Get off the stove, fox,
Get out, fox!"

The fox said again:

"I'm getting dressed..."

The rooster crowed a third time:

"Cock-a-doodle-doo! I'm coming on my heels,
Carrying a scythe on my shoulders,
I want to cut the fox down,
Get off the stove, fox,
Get out, fox!"

The fox, terrified, ran out, and the rooster struck her down with his scythe. And so the rooster and the hare began to live happily in the wooden hut. Fairy girl
