The Sheep, the Fox, and the Wolf

A man’s sheep ran away.
A fox met her along the way:
— Where are you going, little sheep? Where are you headed?
— Oh, sister fox! I lived with the man, but I couldn’t stand it anymore: whenever the ram acted up or caused trouble, it was always my fault! So I decided to run away wherever my eyes take me.
— Me too! — said the fox. — Whether it’s a kite or a hawk that catches a chicken, it’s always me, the fox, who gets blamed. Let’s run away together!

They met a hungry wolf:
— Sheep and fox, how far are you wandering?
The fox replied:
— Wherever our eyes take us!
— Let’s go together!

So the three of them went on their way. Suddenly, the wolf said to the sheep:
— Hey, sheep, isn’t that my coat you’re wearing?
The fox overheard this and chimed in:
— Really, brother, is it yours?
— I’m telling the truth, it’s my coat.
— Would you swear to it?
— I would, — said the wolf.
— Then kiss the oath!

The fox noticed that the man had set a trap on the path. She led the wolf to the trap and said:
— Kiss it right here!
The foolish wolf stuck his snout in; the trap snapped and caught him.
The fox and the sheep ran away safe and sound. Fairy girl
