Stretch your legs according to your clothes

Once, a king summoned all the tailors in his country and ordered them to make him a blanket that would fit his size perfectly: not too long and not too short. None of the tailors could fulfill the king's wish, and he ordered all of them to be beheaded.

After that, another tailor came to him.
"Your Majesty," he said, "I will sew you a blanket, and it will fit you perfectly: not too long and not too short. If you command me, I will begin the work."
"Very well, sew it," replied the king, "but be warned: if it is even slightly too long or too short, I will order your head to be cut off!"
"Agreed," said the tailor.

He set to work, deliberately sewing the blanket a little shorter, brought it, and laid it before the king, while hiding a whip under his apron.
"Your Majesty, long life to you!" said the tailor. "I have brought the blanket you wanted. See if it fits well."
"Let me see if it fits."
The king lay down and pulled the blanket over himself, but his feet remained uncovered. Then the tailor took the whip from under his apron and struck the king's bare heels. The king immediately tucked his feet under the blanket.
"Keep your feet within the length of your blanket!" said the tailor. Hearing these clever words, the king said nothing to the tailor, rewarded him generously, and let him go in peace.

As the proverb says: "Stretch your legs according to the length of your blanket." Fairy girl
