Six Brothers
A father had six sons. Five were foolish, and the sixth was a complete fool. The father couldn't be prouder of them. One day, the father said:"Go to town and buy whatever you like."
The brothers went to town. They entered a shop and started shopping. The five brothers bought guns without barrels, and the sixth bought one without a muzzle. They slung the guns over their shoulders and headed back.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, six hares came running toward them. Five hares had ears on top of their heads, and the sixth had ears sticking straight up. Seeing the brothers, five hares dashed away, and the sixth bolted.
The brothers quickly raised their guns and took aim. Five closed their eyes, and the sixth squinted. They all fired at once, but five missed, and the sixth didn't hit anything either.
Then the brothers chased after the hares. They caught five, and the sixth was captured too. What luck!
They returned home and decided to cook the hares in a thimble. Five hares didn't fit in the thimble, and the sixth couldn't squeeze in.
The father said:
"Go to the neighbors and ask for six pots to cook all the hares at once."
The brothers went to the neighbors. Five neighbors were stingy, and the sixth was greedy. The neighbors gave what they could spare—five leaky pots and one without a bottom.
The brothers brought the pots home and started cooking the hares. They forgot to light a fire under five pots, and under the sixth, they didn't even try.
The hares cooked and cooked. Five didn't cook through, and the sixth remained raw.
They started eating the hares. Five brothers couldn't chew them, and the sixth couldn't even take a bite.
The brothers decided to treat their father. The father ate five hares and choked on the sixth.
The brothers brought six doctors. Five doctors were ignorant, and the sixth knew nothing at all. The doctors examined the father and started arguing. Five said he was unwell, and the sixth said he was sick.
And how did it all end? It's still unknown. The doctors are still arguing. When they reach an agreement, then we can continue the story.
