The Crow and the Crab

A crow was flying over the sea when it spotted a crab crawling along—snap! It grabbed the crab and carried it off to the forest, intending to perch on a branch and enjoy a good meal. The crab, realizing it was doomed, said to the crow:

"Hey, crow, crow! I knew your father and your mother—they were such fine folks!"
"Uh-huh," replied the crow, keeping its beak shut.
"And I knew your brothers and sisters too—what kind and wonderful people they were!"
"Uh-huh."
"But even though they were good people, they were no match for you. It seems to me that there’s no one smarter than you in the whole world."
