The Crow and the Crab
A crow was flying over the sea when it spotted a crab crawling along—snap! It grabbed the crab and carried it off to the forest, intending to perch on a branch and enjoy a good meal. The crab, realizing it was doomed, said to the crow:"Hey, crow, crow! I knew your father and your mother—they were such fine folks!"
"Uh-huh," replied the crow, keeping its beak shut.
"And I knew your brothers and sisters too—what kind and wonderful people they were!"
"Uh-huh."
"But even though they were good people, they were no match for you. It seems to me that there’s no one smarter than you in the whole world."
The crow liked these words; it cawed loudly, opening its beak, and dropped the crab back into the sea.
